Trio Concert - From World War II

Spanish musicians John Kruer (violinist from Hong Kong Sinfonietta) and Antonio Roig (cellist, 1st prize from XV Concurs Internacional de Música de Càmbra Ciutat de Vinaròs) will join Hong Kong pianist and Jockey Club scholar Gigi Ip in this coming May's concert. The trio will testify their communicative skills through a powerful rendition of Soviet composer Shostakovich’s masterpiece: Piano trio no.2 written during World War II, where ghostly stillness, distant memories and fragile lyricism got shattered in times by savage irony and biting sarcasm.
